element 14 accelerates automotive applications with the industry’s first bipolar transistors in LFPAK from NXP in Asia-Pacific
Bangalore, India, September 22, 2014: element14 has expanded its portfolio of transistors from NXP Semiconductors, a player in high-performance mixed signal electronics, with the addition of the industry’s first bipolar transistors in LFPAK56(Power SO-8). These transistors in low-profile LFPAK56 (SOT669) SMD power plastic package, deliver thermal and electrical performance comparable to bipolar transistors in much larger power packages such as DPAK, on less than half the footprint.
AEC-Q101 qualified, these bipolar transistors are suitable for applications in power management, load switch, linear mode voltage regulator, backlighting and particularly for automotive applications as it supports high temperature operations of up to 175 degree C.
Sean Mak, Head of Supplier Management, element14 Asia-Pacific, said, “We are delighted to add these NXP transistors to our comprehensive range readily available for design engineers who are keen on compact size, high power density and efficiency for their next-generation product development.”
Key features include
- high power dissipation
- space-saving 5x6mm with a low profile of 1mm
- high reliability and mechanical ruggedness due to solid-copper clip, no wires
- high energy efficiency due to less heat generation
