askmeBazaar kicks off ‘Be-E-commerce Entrepreneur’application development contest

askmeBazaar-logoNew Delhi, India, September 22, 2014: askmeBazaar, India’s largest managed marketplace that recreates the great Indian shopping experience online, has announced the launch of a unique application development contest -‘Be-E-commerce Entrepreneur’, for developers in India to showcase their expertise in developing e-commerce focussed applications. Registrations are open at and will continue till December 31, 2014.

Developers get to compete for total prize money of Rs. 15 lacsthat includes funds to promote their application on various app stores and Ad networks. Besides this, all live applications will also get a year of free access to the askmeBazaar Developer Network and a chance to be considered for further investment by askmeBazaar.

The contestants will be provided access to askmeBazaar APIs to assist them to create new e-commerce applications. They need to create and e-commerce website/app and also promote it.

KiranMurthi, CEO at askmeBazaar, said: “Be-E-commerce Entrepreneur’ initiative is aimed at igniting the passion of entrepreneurship among budding developers and providing them a quick start in the application development space. Through this contest, technology enthusiasts will be given the opportunity to showcase their vision and design bespoke e-commerce applications. Considering the reach of askmeBazaar, we are confident of seeing a competitive number of participation from developers across the country.” 

There will be two rounds of evaluation. In round one,five websites/applications will be selected on the basis of maximum orders generated and each will get Rs 2, 00,000 worth of Digital Marketing spend for promotion.

In round two, the developer whose website/application that generates the maximum number of orders will be adjudged as the winner and gets a return trip to Thailand while the next 10 winners will get gadgets.
