Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 3 in India @ Rs. 9,999
Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone Redmi Note 3 today. It is also Xiaomi’s first smartphone with a fingerprint sensor. It is constructed with a metal body and comes packed with a 4050 mAh battery. In the beginning, Redmi Note 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and Mi.com starting 9 March. The version with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage retails at INR 9,999, while the version with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will go for INR 11,999. Starting from 4pm on 3 March, Mi fans can pre-register on the two sites for the first sale.
Very soon, Redmi Note 3 will also be available on Flipkart, Snapdeal and offline partners.
Powered by Snapdragon 650 processor, the first Qualcomm Technologies’ chipset equipped with ARM’s top-end Cortex-A72 performance cores, Redmi Note 3 is exceptionally fast with an Antutu score of over 77,000. It features the latest Qualcomm Adreno 510 GPU, which provides impressive graphics performance for an unparalleled gaming experience.
Redmi Note 3 packs a 690Wh/L high-density 4050mAh battery that is incredibly thin. As a result of an innovative internal design, Redmi Note 3 weighs just 164g and measures only 8.65mm at its thickest point, despite the massive battery. The device also supports 5V/2A Qualcomm Quick Charge technology, charging up to 50% in one hour and taking only three hours for a full charge.
The fingerprint sensor on Redmi Note 3 uses capacitive scanning technology for accurate, secure and fast performance, unlocking the device in just 0.3 seconds. There are a number of useful fingerprint sensor features incorporated into MIUI 7, including the ability to lock apps, access hidden folders, and even take a front or rear camera selfie using just your fingerprint.
Redmi Note 3 produces stunning photos thanks to its 16MP rear camera, which has dual ISPs for more powerful post-processing of photos. It also comes equipped with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) for faster focusing, as well as “Local Tone Mapping”, which adjusts contrast at a pixel level to deliver images with much better contrast levels — close to what the eye can see in real life.
Equipped with a brilliant 5.5-inch full-HD display, Redmi Note 3 also boasts features to bring users from day to night. Sunlight Display dynamically adjusts the contrast of pixels to make content more visible under bright daylight. At night, turning on Reading mode will cut down blue light emitted by the display, which reduces eye fatigue. Since blue light suppresses melatonin, the hormone that aids sleep, cutting it down also helps you to sleep better. The new Wallpaper Carousel feature in MIUI 7 delivers stunning wallpaper images daily, so your lockscreen looks refreshingly different every day.
Redmi Note 3 has been designed for full compatibility with India’s cellular networks, and it supports all Indian LTE bands. In particular, the support for LTE Band 5 allows users to fully utilise the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology incorporated in Redmi Note 3, which will make it possible for HD calls to be carried over 4G, even when indoors.
Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra said, “We are extremely excited to be launching Redmi Note 3 in India, which is the start of many firsts for us in 2016 and more than meets the demands of our hardcore Mi fans. We literally pioneered the category of ‘phablets’ below INR 10,000 in India, and with Redmi Note 3 we are redefining what you can get in this category. 2016 is a significant year for us and we are looking forward to introduce even more amazing products in India in the year to come.”
