Rapido receives licence under Karnataka On-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016, for cab services in the State
Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited (Rapido) has received a licence from the Karnataka State Transport Authority, Transport Department, Government of Karnataka, under the Karnataka On-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016, for its cab services in the state. The licence is valid for five years, until August 2031.
Karnataka is Rapido’s home state and one of its most important mobility markets. Over the years, Rapido has built a deep presence across 21 cities in the state, supporting over 3.14 lakh captains and serving more than 2.04 crore registered customers. More than 69 lakh customers in Karnataka have taken cab rides through the platform with Rapido.
The licence provides greater confidence and continuity to the large base of captains and commuters who rely on Rapido for everyday mobility. It also strengthens Rapido’s ability to support Karnataka’s evolving urban transport ecosystem through safe, reliable and compliant cab services.
The development marks an important step in Rapido’s continued commitment to Karnataka and reinforces the company’s role as a long-term mobility partner in supporting the state’s vision for safer, more accessible, reliable and technology-led urban transport.
