Record Participation as Stepathlon 100 Day Race gains momentum with its fourth edition

Mumbai, India, September 24, 2015: Stepathlon Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd., the leading global wellness company which is currently in its fourth year announced that they have so far reached 180,000 Stepathletes from 500 companies. Participation in Stepathlon has clocked a rise of over 250% over the last four years. The geographic reach this year has expanded to also include Africa and now has covered 54 countries. The virtual race, which is the cornerstone programme of Stepathlon’s movement for movement, motivates individuals to achieve a daily 10,000-step goal using principles of gamification and engagement.

The Vedanta Group has emerged as the single largest corporate to participate in the race with over 5600 Stepathletes. Organisations such as TATA Steel, TATA Power, HDFC Bank, Godrej Properties, United Breweries, DHL, Marico, The Park Hotels, Raheja Universal, Aditya Birla Financial Services, Mahindra & Mahindra are amongst other large organizations who have continued their allegiance to Stepathlon’s 100 Day Race programme as a part of their employee wellness initiative.

In addition, this year’s race includes companies like Schneider Electric, Adani Group, Pidilite, Apollo Hospitals, Castrol, Standard Chartered, GVK and Australian logistics giant Linfox.

I personally enjoy being a Stepathlete and this year I am targeting to beat my last year’s average score of 11,000 steps per day.”

Stepathlon’s initiative combines wellness and team spirit into one effective package, designed to inspire fun, fitness and foster team work and collaboration.

Stepathlon, in tune with its 360 degree approach to wellness, this year, in association with internationally renowned epidemiologist, Professor Maximilian de Courten, is conducting a scientific Mental Health Study. This study will help corroborate the impact of physical activity on mental wellbeing. So far, over 8000 Stepathletes globally have chosen to participate in the voluntary survey.
