Google Unveils Stadia Video Gaming Service

Technology has revolutionized the way companies do business. With the advancement of technology, you can now access the latest Nektan casinos from anywhere. Video games have come a long way since they crossed into the mainstream in the 1970s. To upend the gaming industry dominated by Sony and Microsoft, Google has announced a new streaming service called Stadia.

Today, gamers have to wait for the game to download or have to buy gaming consoles before they can play. With Google stadia, if you’re watching a video on YouTube, you could hit a button that says “play now” and jump right into playing the games themselves in a few seconds.

How Does Gaming Service Work?

The best thing about Stadia is that as long as you’ve got a stable internet connection and you’re using the latest version of the Google Chrome browser; you’ve got everything to play video games.

To play a game on Stadia, you’ll need to open a new tab in chrome and go to the service’s homepage. Google will then prompt you to run a connection test that checks the latency between the servers and your computer, internet bandwidth and any data loss. Stadia requires the latency below 40ms, a streaming rate of 15Mbps and data loss below 5%. You can play with a keyboard and a mouse or a supported game controller. All of your input on the PC are sent on to the Google’s servers, processed in the game and everything happening gets streamed on your desktop.

Games Available on Stadia

The list of games available on the platform gets longer by the day – and while the final number hasn’t been released yet, the numbers look promising.

Buldar’s Gate 3 from Larian studios and Destiny 2 would be available at the launch of Google Stadia. To top that Ghost Recon Breakpoint from Ubisoft and a number of new Bethesda titles are also there on the list.

Here are some of the games Google have confirmed so far:

  • Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Assassin’s Creeds Odyssey
  • Darksiders Genesis
  • Tomb Raider definitive edition
  • Tom Clany’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint
  • Watch Dogs: Legion
  • Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Orcs Must Die! 3

The games will be offered as part of their service and users will have the option to buy the biggest titles. It is unclear at this point whether gamers will require to buy the games and pay for the streaming service in separate transactions or some selected games will be bundled into the service.

Pc Requirements for the Service

As everything runs on the cloud, it seems like nearly any internet-connected PC with chrome should be able to access Stadia. Google has released a set of required specs when it tested the service last year:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz, Ryzen 5 – 1400, Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.5 GHz
  • Video: AMD Radeon R9 290 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB VRAM or more with Shader Model 5.0) or better
