UTStarcom highlights the huge potential of Carrier Wi-Fi, SDN Network, Nextgen Access and Transport at ‘Nextgen Access & Transport India 2015’

In line up to the government initiatives like NOFN and Smart City, the company discussed the future of Wi-Fi, Nextgen access and transport in India.

Organized by Bharat Exhibitions, ‘Nextgen Access & Transport India 2015’ witnessed the presence of experts from the field of telecom, Wi-Fi, Mobile Services, Network Transport and Telecom Infrastructure. Industry leaders including BSNL, Airtel, MTNL, VVNL, Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) Tata Docomo and DEN Network discussed the great industry insights, strategies, demands, and challenges for Superior Digital Highway in India.

Industry stalwarts including Mr. NK Gupta, Director (Consumer Fixed Access), BSNL, Mr. Mr. Deepak Sanghi, Vice President (Transport), Bharti Airtel, Shri Sunil Kumar, Director, MTNL, Mr. Chetan Kumar, Vice President, Technical Broadband, DEN Networks Limited shared their views on topics like relevance of FTTx in the era of Mobile Broadband 3G/LTE/ Wi-Fi Technologies  and identifying the True Value of SDN and NFV for Carriers.

Underlining the importance and benefits of Carrier Wi-Fi, SDN Network, Nextgen Access and Transport UTStarcom shared that the future of networking will rely more on software, which will accelerate the pace of innovation for networks as it has in the computing and storage domains. Efficient and cost-effective SDN/NFV-enabled network infrastructure, Next-generation metro transport network and scalable and efficient broadband access solutions is the need of the hour. The deployment of Carrier-Grade Wi-Fi is going to help operators provide wider broadband coverage, higher data rates and better overall user experience to their customers.

Speaking on the future of Wi-Fi and Nextgen access in India and UTStarcom’s role in the same, Rahul Pandey, Director, Sales & Marketing, SAARC said, “We aim to introduce our core competency, which is the packet optical transport where we have recently introduced 100 Gigabit Ethernet services product – TN765 that we think will be the best solution for the program.
