Flipkart appoints Head of Taxation and CFO for its commerce platform
Bangalore, India, October 5, 2015: Flipkart has announced that it has appointed Sriram Venkataraman as the CFO for its commerce platform and Pramod Jain as VP and Head of Taxation.
In his current role, Sriram, as the finance lead for the commerce platform (CP), will head all aspects of the finance function for CP and will be responsible to drive the CP business to deliver its ambitions.
Speaking on the appointment, Sanjay Baweja, Chief Financial Officer at Flipkart, said: We are very excited to have Sriram on board with us. His experience in handling diverse roles and sharp business acumen will be a great benefit to the company. “
Sriram has over 19 years of experience in Unilever, handling a variety of leadership and operational responsibilities in manufacturing, product development/management, global supply chain and procurement, global treasury, corporate finance and business finance, covering the Asia-Africa geographies. His last role was Head of Sales Finance in Hindustan Unilever. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras and did his post-graduation in Management from the ISB.
Pramod Jain who has joined Flipkart as the Vice President and Head of Taxation, will add his might to create a strong charter for taxation team and will play a key role in taking the tax teams engagement with revenue and government authorities to the next level.

Prior to Flipkart, Pramod has worked with Indus Towers Limited, world’s largest telecom tower company and a joint venture of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, as VP Taxation for 5+ years. Before that, he has worked as the country tax head for Dell and Xerox and in different capacities in Big-4 firms. He is a Chartered Accountant and Lawyer by professional qualifications.
