Cygnet. One Launches Agentic AI Platform for Accounts Payable
Cygnet. One launched its Agentic AI platform for Accounts Payable to bring all of it into one place with whole invoice book live, backed by a team of AI agents that do the checking.
The Accounts Payable Intelligence Platform builds on Cygnet. One’s experience across tax technology, finance transformation, compliance, document intelligence and automation, connecting accounts payable, tax, e-Invoicing and enterprise integration in one ecosystem.
Every invoice follows the same simple path. It arrives by email, vendor portal, API or manual upload; and is read and extracted automatically. AI agents then run the same checks an AP analyst would: vendor and bank verification, duplicate detection, GST and tax compliance and a three-way match against the purchase order and goods receipt. Anything that needs judgement is routed to the right person to approve; everything else is cleared and handed off, ready to post into the ERP.
Accounts payable is one of the most operationally demanding functions in enterprise finance and one of the easiest to lose control of as volume grows. Large enterprises describe the same problem from different angles:
- Vendor and volume complexity – thousands of vendors, invoice formats and GSTINs across plants and entities
- PO-GRN-invoice mismatches – manual 3-way match and revisions routinely break the three-way match
- GST and tax compliance – IRN validation, TDS logic and GSTR-2A/2B reconciliation to check invoice compliance
- Approval bottlenecks – manual sign-offs that stretch turnaround time and cause invoices to get missed
- Duplicate payments and fraud risk – vendor-master hygiene and bank-detail changes remain a weak control point
- On-demand Analytics and delay in responding to invoice-specific vendor queries
Cygnet. One’s platform is built on three connected layers
- Where your team works – AP Control Tower and use-cases for the whole invoice book, an Invoice Workbench to search and drill into any invoice, a Risk & Holds queue for anything flagged, an Approvals screen, Analytics and a Co-pilot that answers plain-language questions about the AP book.
- The AI agents doing the checks – vendor and bank verification, duplicate detection, GST compliance and input-tax-credit classification, TDS suggestion, three-way match (invoice vs. PO vs. GRN), rules-based approval routing, a co-pilot for analytics and a vendor communication assistant that helps with draft responses for vendor queries.
- The systems it can connect to – email inbox and vendor portals, invoice document intelligence, Cygnet ASP GSP for GST compliance, SAP and other ERPs – all orchestrated through Cygnet. One’s Agentic AI platform (Studio + Orchestrator) and via integrations.
Most large enterprises have already digitised their invoices. Few have gained real control over them.
The decisions that decide whether an invoice gets paid like is the vendor genuine, is the tax right, does it match what was ordered and delivered, has the right person signed off, still happen across a patchwork of inboxes, spreadsheets, tax portals and ERP workarounds.
Enterprises rarely start from the same place and the platform is built to meet each one where it is
- Fully manual AP teams – where invoices are keyed in, matched and approved by hand – get automation and move straight to human-in-loop and reviewing exceptions instead of doing the work itself.
- Teams already using OCR – where matching, GST checks and approvals still happen manually after extraction – get steps downstream of extraction automated. The OCR investment is extended and not replaced.
- Enterprises with an AP system that has gaps or digitizes but not automate – non-PO invoices, import invoices or specific exceptions still handled outside it – get exactly those gaps closed, without replacing what already works.
“Finance transformation does not work if it is built around one rigid workflow,” said Niraj Hutheesing, Founder and Managing Director, Cygnet.One”. “The same organisation might run several ERPs, a dozen tax regimes, and approve payments differently. Our platform gives finance leaders a system to monitor, while every teams keep the workflow that actually works for them. That means not just faster invoice processing, but a finance function that can scale without losing control.”
