Genpact Partners With Gurgaon Police To Drive Gender Sensitization

Genpact has been actively driving Gender Diversity and Women’s Rights through its many initiatives for some time now. Today it is joining hands with the Gurgaon police for a special screening of Vibha Bakshi’s National Award Winning Film – ‘Daughters of Mother India’.

Says Police Commissioner, Navdeep Singh Virk, “To celebrate March as a month for International Women’s day we have chosen the documentary film ‘Daughters of Mother India’ screening to be held across key centers in Haryana. I am very positive that the film has the power to contribute to India’s endeavor to sensitize society on gender violence. ‘Daughters of Mother India’ film is objective, compelling and thought provoking”.

Sasha Sanyal, SVP – Strategy and Diversity & Inclusion Leader, Genpact, says: “Women’s safety is a critical issue that needs everyone’s attention. No matter what a company does around Diversity, if the social infrastructure does not support this, it will be impossible for these initiatives to succeed.  Vibha’s film spreads a powerful message of hope and explores reforms in the system. We are proud of our tie-up with the Gurgaon police and grateful that they have joint hands with us to sensitize society to bring about positive change!”

National Award Winning Filmmaker, Vibha Bakshi, adds: “This documentary is representative of India’s story filled with resolve, activism and hope. I truly believe this platform will play an integral part in touching the lives of people in Haryana and sensitizing people to vocalize crime against women and children.”

Creating an awareness about women’s position in society, and sensitizing people to the overall safety and rights of women, has become extremely important in today’s world, and the coming together of a corporate powerhouse and our law enforcers in order to make this happen is a big move in the right direction.

The screening will be followed by a talk with Police Commissioner, Navdeep Singh Virk and a question and answer session with the filmmaker Vibha Bakshi.

The screening will take place at Epicentre, Ground Floor, Apparel House, Sector 44, Gurgaon, Haryana 122001, at  06.00 PM IST, on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016. News Service
