Twitter launches Indian flag emoji as part of Independence Day celebrations

New Delhi, India, August 15, 2015: Twitter today launched an Indian flag emoji, its first-ever feature for India’s Independence Day celebrations. The feature will be active until the midnight of the 16th of August.

By using hashtag #India when composing a Tweet, the Indian tricolour will appear after those hashtags in the sent Tweet.  The feature gives Twitter users a fun way to Tweet, share and celebrate the historic day with Indians and supporters of India worldwide.

This morning, PM Narendra Modi (@NarendraModi) officially launched the nation’s first-ever Twitter emojis with this Tweet and wishing his fellow citizens.
