Quote on Digital India Campaign by Ms. Archana Kumar, Director, Image InfoSystems
Digital India Campaign is definitely a right step by the government towards the next level of transformation for the country. With this massive technological push, India is all set to become a digitally empowered country and a more robust knowledge economy. There are various schemes like Digital Locker, E-Education, E-Health, E-sign and National Scholarship portal. With the focus being on placing broadband highways, universal access to mobile connectivity, e-governance, creation of jobs, making India a base of electronics manufacturing and target for net zero imports, the India story is bound to change.
Along with the positive implications of this initiative, it is necessary to understand the security concerns of the venture. Mobile phones and other digital devices containing highly vulnerable personal information are the most risky areas of concern as they are being connected to a public network.
Apart from this we are sure that the democratizing force of software and digital technology will also enable India’s future innovators and entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. With the commitment being given by the India Inc, Indian businesses are expected to transform and seize the opportunities ahead and enable the talent and ingenuity of the human capital to further thrive in India. This initiative is expected to put India into a trajectory which will enable people to get engaged in the innovative processes due to the availability of connectivity. This would mean that we are heading for the next level of economic growth. Along with taking this special initiative, it is essential to take the security aspects into consideration. The security aspect of the infrastructure is required to be crafted carefully.
The challenges in the Indian scenario are unique. To overcome them investments required are really huge. All the stakeholders have to jointly deliberate to address this issue with clear timelines for converting this dream to reality.
I would like to congratulate and extend my best wishes to the Honorable Prime Minister, and the Honorable IT Minister and the member of India Inc., who are going to make this Digital India Campaign possible.
