RajiVihaan launches DEVTA – GAON SE GAON Program

RajiVihaan-LogoNew Delhi, India, February 11, 2015: New Delhi-based RajiVihaan Group today announced the launch of ‘DEVTA – GAON SE GAON’ program. DEVTA has been coined as an acronym for Digitally Empowering Villages Towards Affluence – Village to Village (GAON SE GAON). The ‘DEVTA – GAON SE GAON’ program aims to bring affluence to villages by becoming the first initiative by a private organisation to ride on and monetize the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) launched last month.

RajiVihaan Group is led by industry professionals from the field of Broadband and Renewable Energy.

“‘DEVTA – GAON SE GAON’ program is a set of services which intends to bring the benefits of fibre based broadband network NOFN being rolled out by Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) and the benefits of Digital India campaign to the remotest of villages and help them towards affluence,” said Vijay Yadav, Chairman of RajiVihaan Group.

The program intends to provide specific services to the villages which would connect them with markets beyond their geographies. One of the services is e-commerce which will allow buyers and sellers across India to trade products and services through its e-commerce portal www.gaonsegaon.com.

According to the management of RajiVihaan, this initiative will enable the villagers to sell their goods and services at rates that market is ready to pay without losing out on margins to commission agents and thus balance out the ever growing trade imbalance between villages and cities. Under this program a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) will be trained and skilled to serve as GRTP (Grass Root Telephony Provider) and GREP (Grass Root Energy Provider – Solar/Renewable energy). As GRTP, the skilled VLE will support in provisioning and maintenance of local connectivity of bandwidth, servicing of local telecom networks, telecom devices or access services. As GREP, the VLE will supply, provision and maintain renewable energy solutions based on solar energy.

The VLE will be trained and skilled to further support the villagers in e-commerce transactions and will be the central point of pick-up and delivery of goods and the central point of coordination in the villages for service delivery to cities. VLE will enable an ecosystem that will support brick and mortar companies and skilled individuals to make online sales of their goods and services through gaonsegaon.com. This combination of VLE with online sales of goods and services positions gaonsegaon.com uniquely to rapidly extend its reach nationwide. Initially, the company will be training VLEs in 60 villages, 30 in Haryana and 10 each in Kerala, Karnataka and Rajasthan and will grow to cover all 2,50,000 Village Panchayat in the country.

The VLE will also assist and guide the villagers who would be looking for relevant information or consumer services like G2C services, banking, education, employment, land records and other relevant information with the help of data/Internet accessibility. This will help in bridging the digital divide, increasing the overall productivity of the villages and thus bring affluence to the villages.

Mr. Yadav further added, “The intention is to go along with the roll out of NOFN Phase-I and Phase-2 to all 2,50,000 Village Panchayat in the country and wherever possible, provide our expertise to help accelerate the roll out of NOFN by appointing and skilling VLEs and seeking to work closely with the Village Panchayat and relevant departments and ministries of Government of India.”
