Medi Assist launches MediBuddy

Medi-Assist-MediBuddyNew Delhi, India, February 4, 2015: Medi Assist, India’s largest TPA and a leading healthcare management provider launched MediBuddy, a mobile app that enables users to manage all their healthcare needs using their smartphones. This one of a kind app allows users to access real-time information related to health insurance claims, locate network hospitals, avail healthcare benefits and wellness packages, and also access their health records in digital format with ease.

A MediBuddy user can send a claim intimation to Medi Assist just ahead of hospitalization to hasten pre-authorization for cashless hospitalization. They can then track the claim in real-time without having to follow up with the hospital helpdesk or the customer support team. “With MediBuddy, our customers can track their health insurance claims in real-time. This is particularly useful during times of emergency hospitalization when one wants to know whether a preauthorization for cashless admission has been approved,” said Dr. Vikram Jit Singh Chhatwal, Chairman, Medi Assist.

MediBuddy also helps users track their reimbursement claims in real-time. Interestingly, one can track claims and access information about beneficiaries even without signing up. “So, for example, if you are at your hometown taking care of your parent who has undergone hospitalization, and don’t have your login details handy, you can track the status of your claim without signing in – all you need is either your registered mobile number, email id, employee id or your Medi Assist ID,” explains Dr. Chhatwal.

The app also sports many other handy features. The Hospitals menu allows users to locate and contact the nearest network hospital. This is important because cashless hospitalization, and potentially preferential corporate tariffs, are available only at network hospitals. The FAQs menu gives users quick information about types of hospitalization, claims and the procedure for raising claims. Many young users find this information very helpful. And, should they need any further help, the app gives them detailed information about the people they can contact, the customer care number, the support email ID, and more.

Honeywell India is one of Medi Assist’s first corporate clients to adapt the application to their specific requirements. MediBuddy will now enable Honeywell India employees to access medical benefits available to them as part of their corporate health insurance programme using their smartphone. Employees can track their claims, go through the details of their insurance policy, locate network hospitals, view their e-card and more, on-the-go.

Ajay Kukreja, Country HR Director for Honeywell India, said, “We always look for ways to enhance employee experience. The launch of MediBuddy, the employee’s personal health buddy, will make our healthcare benefit experience more intuitive and more easily accessible to employees.
