We are living in a compititive world, where everyone wants to score more numbers and take an admission in a good college. Today, I’m discussing about COMEDK. COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) is the CET (common entrance test) for admission in Medical, Engineering and Dental courses offered by the University of Karnataka. COMEDK Application Form available at COMEDK’s official website.
Candidates can get admission to any college in Karnataka based on their rank. It doesn’t have negative marking, but it is highly competitive for the same reason. So the benefit of getting a seat through this process is it adheres to a standard admission and yearly fees throughout the state and no donation amount need to be given. COMEDK is open for out-of-state aspirants too.
COMEDK happens in 2 sessions- morning and afternoon. The medium of COMEDK UGET is in English language only. Test session and duration of each paper of respective course of COMEDK is given below:
Engineering Course: candidates who are preferring admission into engineering streams will have to answer Physics & Chemistry (2 hours) and Mathematics (1 hour). Both the subject tests will held in morning session.
Medical and Dental Courses: Physics and Chemistry (2 hours) will held in the morning session. Biology and English (2 hours) will held in afternoon session.
Medical/ Dental and Engineering Courses (Both): Candidates who are interested in giving exam for both the courses, they will have to answer all the subjects. Physics & Chemistry (2 hours) and Mathematics (1hour) will held in morning session while Biology & English (2 hours) will held in afternoon session.
In CET, syllabus is from class 11th and 12th. It is advised to be through with the class 11th and 12th C.B.S.E and state board syllabus so that you can efficiently solve the paper. There will be 60 questions in each section. It is a MCQ based exam.
In COMEDK examination, there is a set number of questions for each subject of each course. Few important things about the test pattern of COMEDK are:
1. Questions in each subject test is in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
2. Each MCQ carries 1 mark
3. There is no negative marking scheme in COMEDK UGET 2016
4. In case of a tie in the test score, least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) are calculated
COMEDK Merit list is generated on the basis of only candidate’s scores in the entrance test.
