Intel Boosts Hardware and Systems Innovation as 14 Startups from First Batch of Intel India Maker Lab Showcase their Products and Solutions

Intel India hosted its first Maker Lab Startup Conclave and Demo Showcase in its Bengaluru campus. The ‘Intel India Maker Lab’ was set up about a year ago to help startups accelerate their hardware and systems innovation towards creation of new products and  solutions by offering infrastructure, technology, tools, and mentorship support.

Nivruti Rai, general manager, Intel India & vice president of the Platform Engineering Group at Intel Corp. said, “Intel has a strong and consistent focus on accelerating innovation, systems design and entrepreneurship in India. With over 15 years of relentless commitment to research and development, we continue to build a community of innovators in India.  Intel is the catalyst of fostering innovation in the country and we see a lot of enthusiasm in this space through various programs that we are associated with. Innovation is the key ingredient for making the Digital India vision a reality.”

In the first batch, seventeen startups have utilized Intel India Maker Lab facilities for their projects in the areas of education, sports, health, agriculture, BFSI, and e-governance, across IOT, Cloud, and Client Compute. Out of these, nine startups have already launched their products in the market; five startups have their products ready and are moving to customer trial stage, while the remaining three are in the design stage.

The Intel India Maker Lab supported seven startups that came out of Department of Science & Technology (DST) – Intel Innovate For Digital India’ Challenge.

Jitendra Chaddah, senior director, Strategy & Operations, Intel India, said: “It’s very gratifying to see a slew of innovative products and solutions in the areas of education, sports, health, agriculture, BFSI and e-governance developed by the hardware and systems startups using the Intel India Maker Lab.  These solutions will help solve real consumer and business needs and contribute towards realizing the Digital India and Make in India vision.” News Service
