New Delhi, India, August 14, 2015: BT Global Services has received highest scores in two out of four use cases by Gartner, Inc. in its Critical Capabilities Report for Network Services in Asia Pacific. The report evaluates 14 providers against four critical capabilities with four different use cases measurements, including regional network, extended domestic network, low-latency network and high-capacity network.
BT achieved the highest scores for regional network and extended domestic network, reflecting two of the four use cases.
According to Gartner, “IP VPN is the service of choice for multinational corporations (MNCs). However, demand is growing for high-capacity services for content distribution to Asia/Pacific’s very large consumer market and low-latency services for financial trading and the banking sector. MNCs that have large operations in big emerging markets, such as China and India, want international providers to extend their coverage into these markets, either through MPLS interconnections or Internet VPNs, as well as provide managed customer premises equipment (CPE) services.”
Gartner recommends that on such occasions network architects in MNCs should “select a provider that offers superior connectivity not only to, but inside emerging markets through MPLS interconnections with local carriers, a track record for good service and support and experience supporting large and highly distributed networks.”
Kevin Taylor, president, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (AMEA), BT Global Services, said: “I believe our scores in the report show BT’s clear market leadership in Asia Pacific. We feel this can be accredited to our highly reliable network with excellent regional coverage, high-quality service and a comprehensive portfolio of solutions tailored for the needs of different industries. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary in Asia, I’m delighted that our continued investment in the region and our global networked IT capabilities are being recognised in this latest report.”
