Bangalore, India, January 8, 2015: Xchanging plc, the business process, procurement and technology services provider, has announced that Xchanging Procurement, the third largest procurement services provider globally, has signed a new three and a half-year contract with Brambles Limited.
Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Brambles is a supply-chain logistics company, operating in more than 50 countries, primarily through the CHEP and IFCO brands. The group specialises in the pooling of unit-load equipment and the provision of associated services, focusing on the outsourced management of returnable pallets, crates and containers. With more than 14,000 employees, Brambles serves the consumer goods, dry grocery, fresh food, retail, and general manufacturing supply chains in addition to the automotive, aviation and refining sectors.
The new three and a half-year contract has been awarded following Xchanging’s successful delivery of procurement services to its subsidiary company CHEP Europe for the last five years. As part of the contract, Xchanging and Brambles will enter into a co-sourcing agreement to strengthen procurement capabilities and drive spend- efficiencies.
The co-sourcing team will help to integrate and standardise procurement processes for Brambles’ business across six key regions: Europe, North America, Middle East & Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Latin America, for its indirect categories of spend. Xchanging will help to identify and deliver global and regional sourcing initiatives to reduce overall non-core procurement costs across Brambles’ global business units.
Pranil Vadgama, Vice President, Global Procurement for Brambles, said, “Brambles has set out to improve strategic and tactical procurement globally. Based on Xchanging’s superior sourcing methodology, processes and technology expertise, and most importantly – proven results – we’re confident that growing this partnership will continue to drive strategic benefits for our business. An important factor in our decision to partner with Xchanging was its delivery model, and the improvement in procurement processes they have supported in CHEP Europe.”
Chirag Shah, Executive Director of Xchanging Procurement, said, “This is a significant win for Xchanging; Brambles’ decision to expand upon its prior contract is significant recognition of the global capability with Xchanging’s Procurement business which now has staff deployed in more than 30 countries and in every continent. I’m delighted that Brambles sees value in our high-touch, customised service, which we believe is the most effective way to deliver superior procurement practices, operational efficiencies and cost savings.”
The contract leverages Xchanging’s capabilities in all its key geographies with a global player. The business is the third largest procurement services provider globally, with a team of around 1,000 procurement and category specialists, supported by world-class processes and technology.
