Touch on Screen would unlock your device was just an imagination until Vivo X21 was announced. Yes, you heard it right! Vivo X21 would be first ever Smartphone with In-Display Fingerprint scanner. Previously, the devices used to have a fingerprint sensor either on home button or back panel or sidebar and invisible fingerprint was just a concept. The Vivo X21 which was launched recently has a fingerprint sensor on the display just above the home button.
At the first glance, the device looks similar to that of Vivo V9 which was launched recently. The device has a 6.28-inch Display with chamfered edges and sturdy design. X21 also follows the same trend with a vertical rear camera mounted towards the left top and Notch on the front. Also, the back panel of the device has a glossy finish.
Vivo X21 has 6.28 –inch Super AMOLED display with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution, 402 PPI density, and capacitive multi-touch button. It comes with a Protective Film along with third generation Corning Gorilla Glass Protection making the device even stronger. The device is good for watching quality videos and playing games. We have explored the device and found that there is a Gaming Mode option using which users can have a better experience while playing games on it.
The device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. It has 6GB of RAM and 128 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded to 256 GB using an external Micro SD Card. The device sports a Dual rear camera 12MP + 5MP with a f/1.8 aperture on the back along with a LED flashlight just below it. The front camera on the device is of 12 MP with f/2.0 aperture. The dual pixel sensors on the device come with AI Scene recognition, AI Face Detection, and AI HDR Mode. There is a Vivo branding on the center of the back side. On the bottom, you can find the Micro USB port and speaker grills towards the left and SIM Card Tray option towards the right side. On the right edge, you will find the power button and Volume rocker. The device comes with Dual Nano SIM card support where one of the SIM card slots is Hybrid (You can either insert a Nano SIM or a Micro SD Card). There is a 3.5 mm Headphone jack on the top edge and a noise cancellation port.
While using the device if you set any security password for any of the apps then the fingerprint recognition icon appears on the screen, just tap on it for immediate authentication. The hidden fingerprint option doesn’t create any disturbance while using the device and users can get a great experience. The device is powered by a 3200 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0. Accelerometer, light sensor, proximity sensor, digital compass, virtual gyroscope are the sensors available on the device and helps in automating it. Wi-Fi, Fingerprint, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, Micro USB Type 2.0 are the connectivity features available on the device. The device comes with Funtouch OS based V-Appstore, i-Music and Themes, All Google related Apps and few social Media Apps like Facebook and WhatsApp preinstalled on it.

After using the device for a couple of days, we would say that it feels pretty great in hands. The build quality of the device is extremely good with a glass panel both on front and rear making the Vivo X21 look premium. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor along with 6 GB RAM makes the device run smoothly while multi-tasking. The display output of the device is fantastic and fingerprint sensors under the display made the device look vivid.
